You can find the presentation i did in class here.

I have also created a blog on which you will find further information on my business and on what i'll do to make it successful and sustainable. The adress is http://havabite.wordpress.com/

Here are the results of my GET test 3:

The_GET_Test_3.jpg

I think the results of the test pretty much reflect my personality. The high score in section 3 is what i expected, and my friends as well as me think that the general result of the test gives an accurate image of my personality.

I guess that to be as successful as possible as an entrepreneur, i will have to work on my personality a little, espacially regarding section 2. I'm kind of happy to have a high score in this section because it also means that i have my own opinion and that i can defend it, but i have make sure i have a team around me to work well.
Although i've reached an average score in section 5, i think that once i have a goal, i'm very determined and work hard to succeed.

Talent management:

I guess that to be a successful entrepreneur, the ideal would be to have a little bit of every talent in the world, but of course some are more vital than others.
To make my idea a successful business, I think I would have to be very perseverant because a business is rarely something that runs well from the start. I would have to be able to get through all of the issues you have to face when you launch your business.
It’s also necessary to have a very good sense of what your customers need and what will be the next big thing. Compared to other businesses that have already been running for some time, new businesses have no way of becoming a profitable and sustainable business but to create competitive advantages through creativity and reactivity. A major entrepreneurial talent is to have the ability to make both ends meet: you have to have a good product/service, and you have to know how to show your potential customers why it’s in their interest to choose your business.
What’s more, if you want to run your business without being totally stressed out all the time, you have to know how to delegate tasks and trust you employees. I think a business in which the boss tries to do and control everything inevitably comes to a point where productivity seriously drops, employees are fed up and the boss suffers a burnout syndrome.

Useful website for entrepreneurs:

http://www.mybusinessmag.com/

I think that this website is particularly helpful for young entrepreneurs because it gives a lot of advices on how to run and organize your company. Obviously, you can't know about everything that can happen when you start your own business, so it's a nice way to browse the different fields and aspects of a company and to find out what you can/should do.
What's more, the layout of the website is very practical, so when you have a question regarding a specific subject, you can find hints and answers very easily.

Picture:

Entrepreneur.jpgI have chosen this pictures because i really think that it perfectly reflects what an entrepreneur should be. An entrepreneur should have the idea.

Of course it's amazing if you really have a breakthrough idea that nobody has ever had before and that you can turn into a great company. But what i also mean is that an entrepreneur must be somebody who has an idea and who is able to believe in it and to stick with it. To a certain extent, you have to be sure of the thing you're about to launch and you have to be ready for it to change your life. You have to believe in your idea strongly enough to carry it through bad times (because there always are bad times, especially at the beginning).
What's more, you have to be able to innovate constantly so that your company stays competitive. You shouldn't see your business that runs by itself as soon as the rough times of the launch are gone through. So it's really about creativity on a daily basis.

Best practice / Next practice:

As i have understood it, what is called best practice is a way of doing things in business that works better than any other way of doing things. It must have proven to be efficient before and it can be described as a process that businesses can implement to improve their efficiency/productivity.
Best practices are supposed to make the way of doing business easier, less time consuming and more controlable.

Next practice is something utterly different: it's not about standardizing your processes, it's about making your business unique.
Basically, next practices are innovation in any part of your business - you can differentiate your business by making something different in pricing, communication, storytelling... you can apply current trends that you have heard of or even create something entirely new that could become a trend itself!
In my business, the Havabite fast food restaurant, there are many ways of being different from other fast food restaurant. To see what next practices i want to apply to my business, please read my blog.

Naked pizza:

The founders of naked pizza have really did something amazing and they are, in a way, role models for me because i want to open a fast-food restaurant that breaks the common rules of fast food too (even if my restaurant will be a burger and fries restaurant).
They have managed to build a successful business model based on healthy ingredients in their pizzas and environment-friendly packaging. You really have to believe in your idea and be ready to take the risk to invest all your time and money in something noone has really done before.
They're really communicating well around the Naked pizza restaurant and their concept is well conceived. Everything, in the product and around, serves the message of the company and for the customer, it's easy to see what Naked pizza is about.

Core competencies:

Here are the core competencies i think i will need to succeed with my business

Creativity:
I will have to be able to innovate and find new ideas, because i want my business to be a trendy and unique restaurant in my customers' minds.

Environment friendliness:
In addition to the fact that i will use healthy ingredients for the food, i will take care of making business in a way that has no negative impact on the environment.

Cost consciousness:
In order to be able to offer a high quality product to a relatively low price, i must be able to consider and optimize all costs.

Negociation skills:
This competency goes together with the previous one. I will have to negociate the best prices for my resources.

Sales skills:
It is very important that i manage to get the customer to understand exactly what Havabite is about so that he can differentiate and actually prefer it to other restaurant.

Multimedia skills:
I will need this to implement my marketing/communication, since i mainly want to use internet and videos.

Of course i will also have to be a good and imaginative cook in order to make delicious dishes!

Blue ocean strategy:

Net Jet:

In an industry in which competition in very high and margins very low, Net Jet managed to come up with an idea that is about doing business differently rather than fighting on price. They propose a part-ownership of aircrafts to businesses, so that companies can let their executives fly very comfortably without having to buy their own private jets.
With this blue ocean strategy, the NeT Jet airline has been very succesful.

Body Shop:

With its idea to create a shop that offer cosmetic products that make your body feel good rather than just look good, the Body Shop created a blue ocean strategy that responded to a demand other cosmetic manufacturers are unable to satisfy.

Starbucks:

Starbucks' blue ocean strategy consist in providing an environment in which the customer can relax, socialize, read and actually almost feel like at home while drinking a good coffee.

Nintendo Wii:

In an industry in which everything was about bringing out the product with the best graphics and the most realistic games, Nintendo launched the Wii to rather focus on fun and innovative participation in the game for the user.

Personal picture:

This picture represent entrepreneurship for me because the pen is a symbol of ideas and creativity that you need to run a business well and the money is a symbol of the fact that before making money with your business, you have to be willing to invest money (and time) in it.
